Ask HN: Learning programming when AI can do better?

I'm a beginner at programming and following tutorials and online courses, but now all my friends and especially my big brother all told me to stop learning programming because AI can do any software engineer job and it'll keep being better and better. Is this true? Should I pursue some other path if the thing I like is gonna be automated by AI anyway?
